California-based biotech company Viking Therapeutics has developed VK2735, an injectable weight-loss drug shown to burn fat 5 times faster than Ozempic and Wegovy. Participants injected with VK2735 once a week for 13 weeks lost an average of 32 pounds, compared to the 68 weeks required for similar results with other drugs. VK2735's promising efficacy has led to an 80% surge in Viking Therapeutics' share price.
